Alpha HPA is a publicly listed, Australian-based company which has commercialised the world’s first adoption of the solvent extraction (SX) purification technique to aluminium to produce a growing range of ultra-high purity aluminium materials.

Our high purity aluminium oxides, hydroxides, nitrates and sulphates are found in a wide range of high technology industries including LED lighting, synthetic sapphire, semiconductors, Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology and lithium-ion battery industries, but what sets us apart is our market-leading purity levels, developed with a dramatically lower carbon profile.

ROB WILLIAMSON

Managing Director


Rob is a mechanical engineer with over 25 years of experience in large-scale facility operations, major project start-ups, and executive leadership. He joined Alpha HPA in June 2020 as Chief Operating Officer, leading the company’s operational and project delivery efforts as it scaled its high-purity aluminium products production. Rob was appointed to the Board in May 2023 and became Managing Director in February 2025. Prior to joining Alpha HPA, he oversaw the rebuild and start-up of a 155ktpa SX zinc refinery in the USA as Vice President and General Manager. Under his leadership, Alpha HPA continues to advance its HPA First Facility, expand its Alpha Sapphire operations, and strengthen its position in the global high-purity materials market.

RIMAS KAIRAITIS

Executive Director and Chief Commercial Officer


20+ years experience in minerals exploration and resource development in gold, base metals and industrial minerals. Led the geological field teams to the discovery of the Tomingley and McPhillamy’s gold deposits in NSW and steered the Hera gold-lead-zinc Project from discovery through to successful commissioning and commercial production. Previously founding Managing Director and CEO of ASX-listed Aurelia Metals. Currently Non-Executive Director of Sky Metals Limited.

ANNIE LIU

Non-Executive Director


Annie is a seasoned executive, having spent 20+ years building and leading teams across stages from product incubation to rapid growth and scale-up in mature markets. Previously, Annie was the Executive Director at Ford, and prior to this, Annie forged and managed Tesla’s multi-billion-dollar strategic partnerships and sourcing portfolios that support Tesla’s Energy and Battery business units including Battery, Battery Raw Material, Energy Storage, Solar and Solar Glass, including raw materials sourcing efforts such as lithium for battery cells.

MARGHANITA JOHNSON

Non-Executive Director


Marghanita has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Aluminium Council since 2019. She has over 25 years’ experience in the Australian mining and manufacturing sectors, predominantly within the aluminium industry. Prior to joining the Council she led government engagement and advocacy on behalf of Rio Tinto’s Pacific Aluminium assets and prior to that held key climate and sustainability roles at Rio Tinto. Marghanita has Environmental Engineering and Chemistry degrees from the University of Western Australia.

Peter Ware

Chief Operating Officer


Peter brings more than 25 years of leadership in chemical manufacturing, mining, and major hazard facility operations across Australia and South Africa. Most recently Vice President of Operations at Incitec Pivot Limited, Peter led large-scale fertiliser and explosives manufacturing, distribution networks and multi-million-dollar capital projects. He is recognised for delivering operational turnarounds, advancing safety performance and developing high-performing teams. With deep expertise in project delivery, regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement, Peter now leads Alpha HPA’s operations and project execution, including the construction and commissioning of the Stage Two HPA First Facility in Gladstone, the world’s largest high-purity aluminium materials facility.

Craig Jones

Chief Financial Officer


Craig has 25 years of experience in a wide variety of banking, corporate and financial advisory roles. He spent 18 years in various structured lending teams within leading commercial banks, including ANZ Bank where he worked for 12 years in Sydney, Singapore, Brisbane and London. Prior to joining Alpha HPA, for 5 years Craig had been a Director in KPMG’s Corporate Finance team and responsible for arranging and structuring finance for projects in the energy and natural resources sectors, with a particular focus on critical minerals – which included supporting Alpha HPA with financing the HPA First Facility.

Lisa Roobottom

Lisa brings nearly 30 years of experience in Oil & Gas and Chemical Manufacturing, holding senior roles in operations management and HSE with companies including Caltex/Ampol and Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG). As CEO of Alpha Sapphire, she leads the company’s strategic direction, operations and growth, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability and innovation. In her role at Alpha HPA, Lisa ensures the business remains well-managed, compliant and resilient, overseeing policies, regulatory obligations and risk management to protect people and operations.

Matthew Callanan

General Manager – Manufacturing Readiness


Matt Callanan is a Chemical Engineer and joined Alpha HPA in February 2023 having recently returned from working in the minerals processing and chemicals industries in Vietnam and Egypt. Matt has over 25 years’ experience in process engineering and operational management roles in chemicals and minerals processing. Matt is responsible for the operational readiness for the Stage Two facility, currently under construction and due to move into commercial operation in 2027.

Possesses extensive professional expertise in project management, including successful execution of both brownfield and greenfield projects in mining, smelting, chemicals, mineral processing, and recycling operations across Australia, Southeast Asia, South America, and Europe. Established as a proven leader in project portfolio management, having held senior project management positions at Masan High Tech Materials, MMG, Orica, and Iluka Resources.
