Alpha HPA has secured a major commercial facility in Brisbane’s inner east to support the rapid growth of its HPA and synthetic sapphire businesses, driven by surging global demand in the semiconductor sector.
Located just 5km from the Brisbane CBD, the 8,540sqm site at 341 Thynne Road, Morningside, will house Alpha HPA’s Product Development Centre and their Alpha Sapphire growth operations. The modern, purpose-built facility includes 7,700sqm of high-bay warehouse and 840sqm of commercial office space.
Alpha HPA Managing Director Rob Williamson said, "the new facility is a practical step for the business as its HPA commercialisation and sapphire program gains momentum, as this site gives us the space and flexibility to meet operational needs and become the main corporate function for the company”.
“The Morningside facility will enable us to expand our synthetic sapphire production, which underpins critical export markets in semiconductors, LED technology, and optics.”
The Brisbane expansion comes as Alpha HPA continues to build its presence in Queensland, including its flagship project in Gladstone – set to become the world’s largest single-site manufacturing facility for ultra-high purity aluminium materials.
Once fully operational, the Gladstone facility will produce more than 10,000 tonnes of high-purity aluminium products annually and create around 120 additional ongoing jobs. The project is supported by $400 million in funding under the under the Federal Government’s Future Made in Australia initiative.
Alpha HPA’s high-purity aluminium and synthetic sapphire technologies are designed to strengthen global supply chains for advanced technologies, from semiconductors to energy storage to next-generation electronics.
