Alpha HPA was featured live on Sky News, with Managing Director Rob Williamson speaking with business editor Ross Greenwood following the Company’s recently announced $225 million funding round, including a $75 million cornerstone investment.

The discussion focused on the commercial significance of the capital raise, investor confidence in Alpha HPA’s proprietary technology, and the Company’s role as a reliable, low-emissions supplier of high purity alumina (HPA) into global advanced manufacturing markets.

Why high purity alumina matters for AI and semiconductors

High purity alumina is a critical material used in semiconductor manufacturing, particularly in applications where ultra-low alpha radiation and exceptional material consistency are required.

One of the key uses of HPA is in chemical mechanical planarisation (CMP) slurries, specialised polishing materials used to smooth semiconductor wafers to near-atomic levels of precision. This step is essential to achieving the performance, reliability and yield required in modern chips.

As demand for AI-enabled technologies continues to accelerate, from data centres and advanced computing to high-performance gaming, semiconductor manufacturers require materials that meet increasingly stringent purity and reliability standards. Alpha HPA’s proprietary process is designed to meet these requirements at scale, while delivering low-emissions, near-zero waste production.

Supporting delivery and long-term growth

The funding round supports accelerated delivery of Alpha HPA’s HPA First Facility in Gladstone, strengthens the Company’s balance sheet and positions Alpha HPA for long-term growth as global demand for high-performance materials continues to increase.

The Gladstone facility is designed to operate on 100% renewable electricity, reinforcing Alpha HPA’s commitment to combining advanced manufacturing with a low-emissions footprint.

Alpha HPA is already supplying small volumes of HPA into the semiconductor supply chain through production from its Stage One facility, marking an important step in the Company’s commercialisation pathway.
