Advanced materials manufacturer Alpha HPA (ASX: A4N) has been named a finalist in the Emerging Exporter category of the 2026 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards.
The annual awards recognise Queensland businesses demonstrating excellence in international trade and celebrate the contribution exporters make to the state's $123 billion export economy.
Alpha HPA Managing Director Rob Williamson said the recognition reflected the company's successful transition from Queensland technology developer to a rapidly growing exporter supplying some of the world's most advanced manufacturing industries.
"To be recognised alongside some of Queensland's leading exporters is incredibly exciting," Mr Williamson said.
"This acknowledgement reflects the dedication of our team and the growing international demand for Australian-made advanced materials that support the semiconductor, artificial intelligence and electric vehicle markets."
Alpha HPA is building the world's largest single-site manufacturing facility for ultra-high purity aluminium materials in Gladstone, using Australian-developed processing technology to supply customers across global technology markets.
The company has experienced strong export momentum, with Letters of Intent now covering more than 12,000 tonnes of annual product demand, exceeding the planned production capacity of its Stage Two facility before it has even entered production.
Customers include major participants in the semiconductor supply chains of the United States, Japan and South Korea, alongside battery manufacturers and specialty materials companies.
Construction of the full-scale HPA First Facility is well advanced and scheduled for completion late next year. Once operational, it will become the world's largest single-site manufacturing facility for ultra-high purity aluminium materials.
The project represents a significant boost for Queensland manufacturing, supporting hundreds of construction jobs before creating approximately 120 ongoing skilled positions locally in operations, engineering and technical services.
Mr Williamson said the company's export success demonstrated Australia's growing capability in value-added manufacturing.
"Global customers are increasingly looking for secure, reliable and sustainable supply chains for the critical materials that power next-generation technologies," he said.
“Our Queensland-developed Smart SX Technology is enabling us to do something no one else in the world is able to do, and the recognition we’re receiving from customers across Japan, South Korea, the United States, Taiwan and Europe reflects the unmatched product performance and purity our technology delivers.”
"It's encouraging to see Queensland recognised as a place where world-leading advanced manufacturing can thrive, creating skilled jobs while supplying industries that are shaping the future."
The winners of the 2026 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards will be announced at the awards dinner in Brisbane on 8 October.
