Alpha HPA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Commercial Framework Agreement with a South Korean specialty ceramics company, increasing a previous Letter of Intent (LOI) from 1,400 tonnes per annum to up to 1,700 tonnes per annum of ultra-high purity alumina (HPA) materials.
The agreement reflects growing demand from the semiconductor sector and adds to Alpha HPA's customer pipeline as construction of the HPA First Facility continues.
The upgraded agreement follows successful evaluation of Alpha HPA's materials and increasing demand within South Korea's semiconductor industry for products with a zero-alpha impurity profile. Additional sales orders have also been received to support production-scale testing and initial commercial requirements.
Demand for HPA materials continues to grow as semiconductor manufacturers pursue greater processing power, increasingly complex chip architectures and improved thermal management. Alpha HPA's products are being assessed and adopted across applications including thermal interface materials, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) slurries and advanced ceramics.
Recent engagement across Japan, South Korea and Taiwan has reinforced this trend, with end-user LOI volumes now reaching 13,780 tonnes per annum.
The expanded agreement is another positive sign as Alpha HPA progresses the HPA First Facility and continues building relationships with customers in key global semiconductor markets.
