Alpha HPA welcomed Senator Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science, and the Hon Glenn Butcher MP, Member for Gladstone, to its Gladstone operations last week.
Minister Ayres and Mr Butcher toured both Alpha HPA's operating Stage One facility and the HPA First Facility Stage Two construction site, seeing the progress being made as the Company prepares for full-scale operation.
Representatives from the Gladstone Engineering Alliance (GEA) Board, along with GEA CEO Patrick Hastings, also joined the tour. Alpha HPA Managing Director Rob Williamson currently serves as President of the GEA Board of Directors.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the contribution regional manufacturers make to Australia's economic growth, industrial capability and next-generation technology supply chains, as well as the collaborative approach being taken across the region to support Gladstone's next phase of industrial development.
Alpha HPA's proprietary production process was developed in Australia and is being commercialised in Gladstone to support growing demand for critical materials used in global semiconductor, battery and other advanced technology applications.
As construction and commissioning readiness activities continue at the HPA First Facility, the visit also provided an opportunity to recognise the employees, contractors and project partners whose work is helping bring a new industry to Gladstone.
