At Alpha HPA, we’re committed to creating sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous communities. That’s why we have partnered with the Australian Training Works Group to provide dedicated, full-time paid traineeships for First Nations Peoples. This program offers a two-year, Certificate III in Supply Chains Operations, based at Alpha HPA’s Gladstone facility, where trainees will have the opportunity to gain vital skills and on-the-job training in a supportive environment.
Since breaking ground in Gladstone, we have been focussed on creating sustainable economic, social, and environmental impacts. Our Gladstone project represents a significant commitment to sustainable manufacturing, where we will produce high-purity alumina (HPA) critical for clean energy technologies.
The course, Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations, directly aligns with this mission by equipping trainees with industry-specific skills that will support the operational needs of our Gladstone facility. This hands-on learning experience provides an understanding of logistics, supply management, and safety protocols, preparing participants for future roles within Alpha HPA and the broader manufacturing sector
Our facility will generate up to 300 jobs throughout the construction phase and upon completion will provide an additional 120 permanent roles, reflecting our commitment to supporting the workforce and community of Gladstone. Employment opportunities at our facility will include roles in engineering, operations management, project management, laboratory technology, research and development, and other critical positions. These opportunities reflect Alpha HPA’s investment in long-term growth within the region.
Alpha HPA’s Production Manager Geoff Sheppard explained that “Our collaboration with Australian Training Works Group is about more than just creating job opportunities; it’s about equipping First Nations trainees with valuable skills for the future”.
“We’re open to candidates at all levels of experience, ensuring that each trainee has access to comprehensive training and support.” Mr. Sheppard said.
Upon completion, trainees will be fully qualified with a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations and prepared to contribute to the workforce and their communities.
Alpha HPA is not only creating jobs but also empowering First Nations talent by investing in skill-building opportunities that pave the way for future success.
